Scientists have confirmed that Chinese cabbage, the main ingredient in the Korean staple, kimchi, contains large amounts of active substances that prevent cancer.
Upon analysis of 23 types of Chinese cabbage, the Rural Development Administration has found they had 14 anticancer substances, including glucosinolate.
In particular, all types of the vegetable were confirmed to contain one to two-point-31 milligrams of indoleglucosinolate, which is highly effective in suppressing breast cancer.
Chinese cabbage has also been found to contain more of the cancer suppressing substance, glucobrassicin, than broccoli.
